When I started Omni, I wasn’t trying to build a business. I was trying to build a home.
A home for dancers who cared about their craft and their community.
A home for beginners to feel seen.
A home where excellence didn’t come at the cost of inclusion.
And somehow, it worked. From just a few classes in a shared space in 2022, we grew into a full-fledged school. Students transformed—technically, emotionally, creatively. We became known for two things that rarely go together: high-level training and a culture that genuinely cares.
But now, we’re at a turning point. And we need your help.
Why We’re Fundraising Now
Omni has always operated on grit and goodwill. We’ve taught thousands of classes with an all-volunteer leadership team, and we’ve kept our programs going through sheer willpower.
But in 2023, we took on a full-time lease—hoping to create a 24/7 home for dance and art. Instead, we found ourselves overextended. Rent ballooned. Our team burned out. And the quality we’re known for began to suffer.
Now, we’re choosing a different path:
✅ We’re exiting our current lease.
✅ We’re moving to The Oak Grove, a more mission-aligned, flexible space in Oakland.
✅ We’re building a sustainable runway—one that lets us rebuild from a place of clarity, not crisis.
But to make this transition possible, we need to raise $125,000.
